Going Out

After our sailing adventure yesterday today feels like Sunday, but alas it is Saturday – how nice.

Last night turned out to be a wonderfully warm summer night which tempted me to sit out in the back garden until midnight – I cannot remember when last I was up this late!

Glad to say my herbs have arrived, so I spend the morning planting my kitchen garden. Also I found a home for the stray Clematis I picked up on Thursday. It now resides next to the garage with the rail to climb up on.

The rest of the afternoon was spend reading in my oasis – the back garden. Birds chirping – though none coming for a swim in my renovated bird bath – sun shining. Life is good. My daily new reads did not turn up anything noteworthy, beyond of course the frustrating reports about US politics, but I have resolved to largely ignore them or rather not talk about them. It is just too frustrating and the world is sad enough in its current state as it is.

Suffice to say infections are still rising the world over, with 4.62 million reported today. Today’s highlights: EM had two friends over for a picnic on the front lawn while I got to sunbath and read in the back and I am now off for my own socially distanced adventure – socially distanced wine with two girl friends around a fire pit, though given it is 26C outside, I doubt a fire would be needed. Given we rarely get an opportunity to dress up, I did indulge in make up and lacy underwear for the occasion. And I took my sparkly heels out!
