Today had me back in my happy place: on the water. Perfect breeze for a bit, but not too much of a workout. Initially a lot of tacking required to make it down river against the wind. After about an hour or so the wind died down a little and I could sail back in front of the wind and ride the waves. It was so much fun! Just the company was mediocre. A blind date, not terribly entertaining, yet not the date from hell. I did have qualms about a date on a boat, but then with the wind strong enough I could be distracted enough to ignore the guy, so I figured I would risk it. And a boat is a perfect place - outside six feet distance, easy.
The fact that he arrived late, without drinks and then spend part of the sail texting did not help him either. Neither did his impromptu embrace on the dock when he actually did arrive. I mean we have Corona. How I long for my brilliant friend – on every level, but alas it is not meant to be and so far, I have not been able to find a replacement. No one stacks up to him in intelligence! Never mind any other aspect, but then again, my dates hardly ever go beyond a first, where after the gents are discarded as inadequate.
Today I received another essay from EM as to why the curfew rule should be amended or abolished. This seemed like the most unlikely request, given that she was in violation of State law. She did present a great argument and I must say I found myself laughing out loud as I was reading the essay. She makes an argument that curfews are unconstitutional and infringe on her right to freedom. She also makes the argument that a 22:00 curfew is limiting her ability to be with friends given they have class until 15:00 and are only done with their homework around 19:00, so would only have a few hours when they meet. She cited legal studies, which I would love to show to my lawyer friend. Currently the girls are hanging outside around the firepit and by the sound of it are having a lot of fun.
As if one super spreader event at the WH was not enough. The Covidiot in chief is planning another huge outdoor event at the WH this Saturday, despite still being infected and there being no news about any test results whatsoever. Am hoping all GoP senators are forced to attend the scumbag Mitch first and foremost. But that is just the first of in person events planned for the next week.
Corona continues its evil spread: 56k new infections reported in the USA today bringing the total of known cases to 7.88 million of the worldwide reported 36.7 million infections. Only India, with four times the population of the USA is set to overtake America.
Had I only known this before I got my flu shot, I would have gone out of my way to find one with a live virus given this may also offer some protection against COVID-19. So much for being at the cutting edge.
