The day, bright, subby refreshing, but not cold, started like every other Saturday has for the past ten or so months, with coffee and the news in bed, then practice at the park for an hour and a half followed by a thirty minute swim.
What was different though is the celebration of the one-year anniversary of #stahom. We marked the occasion with a Quaranniversary party. The bubble family of course was invited as was the BF and his family, who ended up not coming, and the Turkish-German family we have regularly met for shared outdoor meals. It was a simple affair inspired by my book club friend. Sausages which everyone could roast over the open fire by themselves, a Greekish salad, hot dog buns and champagne. For starters there was a cheese board on offer. Six hours and three bottles of bubbly later we called it a night.
Today one year ago is the day when Maryland moved into full lock down. On the anniversary the USA surpassed a total of 30 million reported cases, though “only” 48k new cases were added over the past twenty-four hours.
