I had a restless night as winds picked up in the middle of the night.
Given the thoroughly pleasant evening I had left most of my windows open over night and things started falling over and blowing around the house waking me up several times during the night. Also, my house is now full of “tree sperm” and leaves. Still, it was a warm and sunny day, just extremely windy, which made sitting outside rather unpleasant, so indoor office only today.
In the neighborhood several trees have fallen victims to the strong winds, blocking roads, but fortunately causing no damage beyond that. The wind has also derailed my afternoon plans. I was going to meet a friend for the first sail of the season. Due to gale force gusts the Marina called to cancel. We shall now try to go out tomorrow, which will make it another fun filled Saturday: Aikido in the park, a pool slot, lunch and then of to the Marina. The day will close out with a grocery run, not so much fun, however I need to replenish the lilies in my bedroom and stock up on wine, not to mention general groceries for the coming week.
There were a couple of items in my pantry which needed to be cooked today. Four oranges, who had seen better days, Tarragon and chicken from my last supermarket forage. I ended up making a Tarragon – Orange sauce to which the grilled chicken was added. On the side a mash of mostly carrots with some leftover potatoes. EM had initially objected to the Tarragon. It turned out so well she took seconds of the sauce! I think I shall add this dish to my “standard” repertoire.
She has now taken of with the BF and I am looking at another evening home alone courtesy of the pandemic, which has all but killed dating. I am rather hoping these endless evenings at home will come to an end once the dojo reopens.
Nothing special in the news today. Numbers continue to rise rapidly in India, Turkey and most of Latin America. The rise in the Us is steady with 59k reported over the past twenty-four hours.
I am one of the lucky ones: As of today I have 94% immunity to the virus and 100% protection against the disease becoming severe or deadly
