Passport

Amazingly EM’s passport arrived today which means we shall try to return to the US tomorrow. Not what I really wanted, but for EM this is definitely the best option. As a result, I have been in a mad packing frenzy today. I am worried about mum being by herself after all of us have been here and the house was busy and full. Once we are all gone it will feel far lonelier than before. I worry I may not see her again. I am hoping this is just a general sense of doom.

I am boosting moral by providing some vision of the future - looking forward to all of us spending two weeks on the boat in the summer. The boat is booked as a treat for the teenagers. I have just order food for the next week. It feels somewhat random to not be in a market and shop. I do hope my selection will feed us. I do know my selection includes fruit, vegetables, milk, fruit, yoghurt and most importantly milk. The only item I could not find was ginger, so I may need to hit a supermarket when we get back.

Also, I am still in two minds as to swimming. I f we need to quarantine can I swim? I think I can as I will not meet anyone and soak myself in chlorine while in the process. I will still need to order COVID home tests so we can get out of quarantine early.

The US has reported 300k new infections were reported over the past 24 hours to bring the US total to 22.5 million. An unmitigated disaster amidst what feels like a revolution.
