Surprising News

Autumn weather has definitely arrived. After a rainy night the sun is shining, but it is cool outside, and it was chilly out on the water today, albeit gorgeous. However no extended lingering in the park over drinks afterwards, it was just too chilly after being out on the water for two hours.

The school today had arranged for students to pick up books. EM went to arrive at 12:30 sharp. After 90 minutes she called to say it was unclear when she was going to get to the front of the line, causing me to miss my lap lane. I was absolutely not happy about that. No matter what, I said to her, she would need to be back by 15:15 as after missing the swim I had no intention of also missing the boat.

The marina is open for another four weeks, but with the chill in the air who knows how often I can still go out. Thereafter sailing season comes to an end. Not a nice prospect as our activities will become more confined, but then again, freezing on a boat is also not much fun.

The big news to which the world awoke this morning was that the Covidiot in chief has left tested positive for Corona Virus. He was traveling aboard air force one to the debate in Cleveland with his advisors all maskless of course. There is no person I can think of who is more deserving contracting the virus. I suspect we are in for a few weeks of deranged tweets and the nation may be spared a second debate, unless of course it is via Zoom, which would give the moderator the opportunity to mute the ”clown” as Vice President Joe Biden has called him, though I still find that insulting to all the clowns out there. Maybe “Jocker” as in the movie would have been more appropriate.

If it were not a potential threat to Vice President Joe Biden it would almost be funny to watch the WH scrambling. Currently they are conducting contact tracing to see how far the virus has spread courtesy of the Covidiot in chief and his troops. I do hope the entire Trump clan tests positive, since they all refused to comply with the mandate to wear masks for the debate. Between the morning and now the orange Cheeto has been hospitalized and given an experimental anitbody cocktail, which, if he is on the mend quickly he will no doubt tout as the cure and force the FDA to approve it, which it has not yet done, not even for emergency use. Regeneron is currently being tested in selected clinical trials.It would be no big loss to the world if the entire clan were to be sty hospitalized until Nov 4th.

Amazon has also shared numbers of infected workers: 20k of their 1.4 million employees in the USA have tested positive.  7.5 million cases are reported in the USA today and America continues to be first, at least in numbers of infected. The world today counts 34.3 million.

The idea of no end in sight of this unmitigated disaster had me rather frustrated last night, inducing me to send a soppy text to my brilliant friend; more or less saying we shall never meet again.
