Silvester

Sylvester is the German word for the change of the old to the new year. It is a quiet night for us. Just mum and I at home. We had a beautiful meal “karpfen blau” which is the northern German traditional new years meal. It is a carp boiled in vinegar water with bay leaves and all spice served with horse radish, boiled potatoes, melted butter and a green salad.

I dropped EM at her fathers today and afterwards met my friend Corinna for a two hour walk in the woods. I did read the news, but there is nothing special to report. USA vaccination is way behind schedule, which is about it; other than 229k new cases reported over the past 24 hours, bringing the US total to 20.2 million. I am hoping for a 2021 with a vaccine for all. A better year than the 2020 write of we all saw. I wish all a healthy, prosperous and happy 2021. It really cannot be worth than 2020, but then again………..
