Today was another uneventful day in the life of COVID. Sunny, cold, no wind. No plans beyond a lap lane and meeting a Turkish immigrant. The immigrant proved to be a disappointment – oh well. Good luck to him and his daughter on settling in the US. He wants to meet again, I certainly will not.
I had a lucky escape as I wanted to show him an App just to find I was meant to initiate a MS teams meeting. Tomorrow is day 4 of 6 in a training series I am co-hosting, and I am presenting at 8am. I am super nervous. I have scripted the training and run through it at least five times, rescripted, rerun, rescripted and during my dry run today was at 26 minutes, which is probably ten minutes too long if I also want to address questions. I am super nervous as I know I am not a great trainer. We had a dry run at 7:00 today which went okay; however, it was more to test the IT. The folks rom the SME Finance Forum are super diligent that way and never have I encountered a glitch when I have work with them. Kudos to the team. I hope my presentation will go well and I will have the confidence to go of script without losing it. I shall set up the IT at 7:30 in the morning just to be sure it all works.
Other than that, the alternative prom committee met tonight. I am happy to report the event will go ahead if we get a permit from NPS (I have no doubt we will). I shall sort out the photographer. Others will worry about a DJ and balloon arches as well as water bottles. I have also volunteered to be a chaperon. What an opportunity to be part of my daughters’ prom! Not a chore at all. I have had a busy day and did not find anything interesting on the news. So, here are today’s numbers: 48k new infections to bring the US total to 30.1 million.
